History
The Eastern North Carolina Chapter’s Dinner of Champions was established in 1974 as a roast for local celebrities, athletes and political figures. Friends and colleagues of the honored guest came together for an evening to share experiences and stories of the honoree and raise funds for the National MS Society. Over the years, the Dinner has evolved into a distinguished recognition of area business and community leaders.
Health and Life Sciences Focus
The 2007, the Dinner of Champions was refocused to highlight the contributions made by organizations in the health and life sciences fields. As a health and human services organization, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society recognizes the importance of advances in research, pharmaceutical development, biotechnology, medical devices, environmental management, and patient treatment and care, among others. The Society also recognizes that progress in these areas are not MS-specific, but are for the betterment of the population as a whole.
The Celebration
By annually celebrating those who are leaders in the health and life sciences fields, the Dinner of Champions draws attention to the positive contributions of companies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, industry associations, and supporting organizations. Not only is the Dinner a venue for recognizing these positive achievements, but also a conduit for building and reinforcing relationships in a festive environment.
The Event
